Hello and welcome to my website.

My name is Max (that’s me in the photo), I am an artist born and raised in Devon and I’ve been drawing pictures of peoples pets ever since I was 16 and used it to pay my way through doing my ‘A’ levels at school.

Unfortunately, at age 17, my eyes developed an extreme sensitivity to daylight - causing burns on my retinas which could eventually blind me - now I cannot go out in the daylight without wearing dark, wraparound sunglasses, so I get round it by living and working at night.

Although my eyesight is not all it could be I am still able to work in fine detail on the pencil portraits I produce, but don’t just take my word for it, have a nose around the website and judge for yourself. There are plenty of examples here of the work I do,  from the individually commissioned portraits to the Limited Edition prints of the non-commissioned portraits that I do - they’re the ones I’ve done to keep myself amused when I haven’t had any commissions to complete - these are also available for sale.
